Cindy Pekrul is a strategic business leader with a proven track record of creating and leading high performing teams that deliver transformative outcomes. She serves as the SVP for NBCUniversal's Global Finance Operations organization. Cindy and her team are responsible for a financial shared service organization that supported the worldwide operations of NBCU. Included in her areas of responsibility are Accounting, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, Credit and Collections each with a focus on accurate and effective end to end financial service operations as well as the creation of opportunities to achieve efficiencies through globalization, standardization, and automation. Prior to her most recent role, Cindy was the SVP and Deputy Controller of Warner Media's Accounting Business Services and held Controller positions at CNN Worldwide and Cartoon Network.
Cindy began her professional career at Ernst & Young in Atlanta after earning both bachelor and master degrees in Accounting from the University of Florida. After Ernst & Young Cindy moved to the client side of the finance profession. Immediately before joining Turner Broadcasting she was the VP and Controller at Allied Holdings Inc., a public international transportation company.
During her career she has had variety of highlights including creating a captive shared service center located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, stabilizing an outsourced shared service transition in Bangalore, India, managing working capital positions, overseeing a financial system conversion, and overseeing both external and internal audit relationships as well as SOX compliance requirements.
Cindy is passionate about her profession and serves as a member of the University of Florida Fisher School of Accounting Advisory Council and the Audit Committee for University of Florida Foundation. She is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the Media Financial Management (MFM) Association, a graduate of the Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) Betsy Magness Leadership Institute and has held speaking engagements with the Shared Services and Outsourcing Network (SSON) throughout the years.
She is an advocate for the advancement of women - both personally and professionally and has served as a community leader for Women for Women International and has greatly enjoyed being a mentor to a number of women over the years.
Outside of work, Cindy enjoys traveling, biking and spending time with her family both in the US and abroad.
