Marc D. Ashley is Counsel in the Litigation department at Chadbourne & Parke LLP. He has extensive experience representing domestic and foreign clients in various types of complex and high-stakes commercial litigation, with a focus on bankruptcy litigation, securities litigation, antitrust litigation, and class actions. He has substantial trial, arbitration, and regulatory investigation experience.



Mr. Ashley helped manage the large-scale investigation in the representation of the court-appointed Examiner in the ResCap Chapter 11 case, analyzing fraudulent transfer, fiduciary duty, and related claims. He also helped represent the Creditors' Committee in investigating and pursuing fraudulent transfer and fiduciary duty claims in the Tribune bankruptcy.



Among numerous other commercial litigation matters, Mr. Ashley has represented a telecommunications company and certain officers and directors in securities fraud class action litigation and related regulatory proceedings, helping to negotiate a $2.5 billion cross-border class action settlement. He has represented a financial advisor in an investment advisory fee dispute, first-chairing the trial and negotiating a favorable settlement. He has also represented a telecommunications company in a $100 million securities fraud action, obtaining a dismissal of all claims in federal district and appellate courts.
