Melissa Kibler Knoll is a Senior Managing Director at Mesirow Financial Consulting in Chicago and has over 23 years of experience providing insolvency-related financial advisory services to companies, creditors and other parties in Chapter 11, out-of-court workouts, receiverships/trusteeships and other forums. Ms. Knoll has also provided a variety of litigation support, expert testimony and forensic accounting services in avoidance actions and other commercial litigation matters, and specializes in bankruptcy-related litigation. She has led engagement teams in a number of high-profile cases, such as Residential Capital LLC, Tronox, ASARCO, Amaranth, Neff, Chrysler, Enron, Kmart, Bethlehem Steel, Singer and Iridium, as well as numerous confidential and other matters. Previously a partner in KPMG’s Corporate Recovery practice after starting her career at Price Waterhouse, Ms. Knoll holds the CPA, CIRA, CTP, CFF and CDBV designations. She is a past president of the American Bankruptcy Institute and is the treasurer of the American College of Bankruptcy. Ms. Knoll serves on the AICPA Forensics and Litigation Committee and is the Chair of its Bankruptcy Task Force. She is a director of INSOL International and serves on the INSOL World Editorial Board. She is also immediate past board chair of the Chicago Children’s Choir. Ms. Knoll earned her BBA in accounting summa cum laude from Texas A&M University and her MBA from Southern Methodist University. She was named the 2003 CIRA Gold Medal Winner, one of Crain’s Chicago Business 2004 “40 Under 40,” the IWIRC 2010 Woman of the Year in Restructuring and one of Illinois CPA Society's 2011 Women to Watch Award recipients.
