Clark M. Blackman II is founder and Managing Member of Alpha Wealth Strategies, LLC, a fee-only wealth management RIA firm in Houston Texas. His breadth of experience spans 4 decades and includes 17 years with CPA firms such as Arthur Andersen (Denver, as an individual tax specialist), FER&S (Chicago - PFP Department Head), PWC (Detroit, as a director and Houston office practice leader), and Deloitte (as a regional and national director of investment advisory services). He spent two years as a commission based planner in the early 1980's and most recently, 19 years in fee-only institutional consulting, wealth management and registered investment advisory services firms. A full time financial planner since 1983, he has held FINRA licenses Series 2, 6, 7, 24, 27, 53, 63 and 65 and was insurance licensed from 1983 to 1985. Blackman's professional experience includes income tax preparation, comprehensive and segmented financial planning in small and large firm environments, investment advisory and consulting services as a fee-only RIA for individual and institutional accounts. He founded a fee-only RIA/financial planning firm in 2006, currently with $105 million in AUM. On the Editorial Board and Subject Matter Panel of the Journal of Accountancy, he has authored over 60 articles published in national publications on the topics of financial planning, investing, professional standards and fiduciary duty. He has been a featured speaker at AICPA, NAPFA, IMCA, CFA Society and other conferences and events. Blackman holds a BBA degree in finance and Master of Arts degree in accounting from the University of Iowa and is a CPA/PFS, CFA, CFP®, AAMS, CGMA and AIF®.
