Executive Director, BDO Alliance USA, BDO
Michael Horwitz has more than 20 years of experience serving accounting firms as clients. Michael joined BDO in 2002 as a partner after serving as a tax partner with Ernst & Young's state and local tax (SALT) practice. Michael helped develop an Alliance Program at EY in the late 1990s, and joined the BDO Seidman Alliance Leadership Team to service CPA firms on the east coast and recruit firms looking to join the program. He supported the Alliance Program's effort to evolve the benefits derived by Alliance members, specifically those related to tax, human resources (HR), marketing, firm administration, and Managing Partner and COO/CFO roundtables. Michael also worked with tax specialty firms that joined BDO's Business Resource Network.
Michael assumed the role of Executive Director of the BDO Alliance USA in July 2015, and leads a team of 22 professionals dedicated to providing national and global resources to local communities.
BDO Alliance USA, the largest program of its kind in the United States, offers technical, marketing, training, HR and "Managing an Accounting Practice" resources to over 220 independent US-based CPA firms and 110 independent Business Resource Network members with revenues in excess of $3 billion.
Michael has been a big supporter of CPAFMA for many years.
