Professional Accounting Fellow, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

Geoff Griffin is a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington, D.C. He joined the SEC staff in August 2019. In this role his responsibilities include consulting with registrants on accounting and reporting matters, following the activities of U.S. and international accounting standard setters, and participating in the development of the SEC's and other standard setting bodies' rule proposals.

Prior to joining the SEC staff, Geoff was a Senior Manager at EY where he spent time in the assurance practice, as well as in its National Office. He holds a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting from Fairfield University and a Master's of Business Administration in Finance from Bentley University. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Massachusetts and New York.
