Jeremy Simons
Partner, Technical Accounting Advisory Group (TAAG), EY
Jeremy is a Partner in EY's Financial Accounting Advisory Services practice in Cleveland where he leads the lease accounting team in the Technical Accounting Advisory Group. In this role, Jeremy provides thought leadership to EY's largest audit and non-audit clients. He frequently speaks on the topic of lease accounting and contributes to EY's lease accounting publications. Also, Jeremy covers consolidation, business combination and income tax accounting matters.
Previously, he was in the EY Professional Practice Group in New York, where he focused on lease, income tax, and long-lived asset accounting matters. In this role, Jeremy was responsible for consulting with global engagement teams and clients, monitoring standard-setting activities, and developing EY's interpretive guidance.
Jeremy spent two years as a Professional Accounting Fellow in the SEC's Office of the Chief Accountant. In this role, Jeremy consulted with current and prospective SEC registrants and divisions within the Commission on accounting issues with particular focus on the topics of consolidations, business combinations, long-lived assets, and debt and equity.
Prior to the SEC fellowship, Jeremy spent time in EY's Professional Practice Group and audited public and private companies in the manufacturing and retail and distribution industries.
Jeremy earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University and majored in Accounting and Finance. Jeremy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a Certified Public Accountant in Ohio, New York and Indiana.
