Christopher L James CPA, MACC

Christopher James is in his third season with the San Diego Padres after joining the club in October 2017.  He oversees a staff of 10 in the finance/accounting department, manages the general ledger and leads financial reporting for all internal and external stakeholders, including Major League Baseball.  Chris also assists the CFO in all financial aspects of the organization including ownership, banking and League relations.

This marks the 20th season in Major League Baseball for Chris, with his experience growing from a box office accountant to his current role across the Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks and the Padres.  Prior to his "promotion" to the Big Leagues, this sports lifer worked for two minor league baseball teams, Cactus League Spring Training, the MLB Arizona Fall League and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Arizona State University.

Chris graduated from Arizona State University with Bachelors' degrees in Finance and Marketing and earned his Masters of Accountancy at Grand Canyon University.  He is currently a member of the San Diego chapter of Financial Executives International.
