Daniel Schiffer is a Senior Advisor for Criminal Investigations in the Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), Office of Enforcement. He was previously the Supervisory Investigator for Criminal Investigations in the New York and Atlanta regional offices. His previous work includes the investigation of: MagnaCare Administrative Services, LLC leading to a civil consent judgement; employee benefit plans and individuals affiliated with Bernard L. Madoff Securities LLC; and two separate RICO indictments involving Taft-Hartley plans. He has conducted and supervised more than 100 civil and criminal investigations of various individuals and entities related to retirement and health plans including, but not limited to, ESOPs, service providers, and MEWAs. He works closely with other law enforcement agencies in prosecuting criminal cases throughout the country and is currently a member of EBSA's cyber security group. While in New York, he was a member of the FBI's Health Care Fraud Task Force. Before joining EBSA, Daniel practiced corporate law in NY. He received his JD from Hofstra University School of Law and BA from Boston University.
