Matt serves as the MDR Managing Partner, and High Point Office Managing Partner. As the MDR Managing Partner, Matt develops and leads DHG's manufacturing, distribution and retail strategy. Matt ensures the MDR practice focuses on important industry issues that affect MDR clients and helps identify solutions to meet client needs.
Working in the areas of corporate taxation and tax accounting, Matt's focus is on manufacturers and distributors, as well as contractors and businesses in the furniture, retail, real estate, and medical industries. Matt has extensive experience working with clients to provide timely and accurate tax compliance services for a variety of tax entities, including privately held businesses. Matt understands the uniqueness of each business and the importance of long-term objectives to executives, employees and the community. Matt provides strategic tax consulting advice, including the optimization of tax credits, maximization of tax accounting methods and proactive entity structuring. He also has successfully assisted clients through areas of tax controversy, including IRS and state audit support, as well as state voluntary disclosures.
