Kip is a recipient of several awards including the California CPA Society Education Foundation's 2013-2014 Award for Instructor Excellence and the 2015 APEX Award for Publication Excellence for Feature Writing. He has written the Policy and Practice column for Tax Notes magazine for several years and was the tax ethics and conduct columnist for CCH's Taxes magazine. He has spoken before numerous organizations including the American Bar Tax Section, the California and Texas Tax Bar Associations and on multiple occasions the U.S.C. Law School Institute on Federal Taxation, the AICPA National Tax Conference, the UCLA Tax Controversy Institute, and California Tax Update, Real Estate and International Tax Conference.
