James A.J. Revels is a partner with KPMG LLP in its Family Offices and Private Client Services practice. Based in Philadelphia, he plays a fundamental role in the firm’s Family Offices and Private Client Services practice, both in the Philadelphia area and nationally.
He provides solutions with comprehensive, customized, and innovative planning related to trusts & estates, international taxation, family office administration and income tax services. He advises a multitude of clients, including entrepreneurs, family offices, fiduciaries, early stage business entities, bio-tech companies, not-for-profit organizations, foreign corporations, high net worth individuals, executives, and owners of closely held entities. He provides guidance to offshore companies related to corporate structure, creation, registration and the multitude of reporting requirements needed for foreign owned entities operating in the United States.
Currently on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. Soon to be added as an officer acting as the Secretary.
He advises businesses across all industries in areas such as Internal Revenue Service (IRS) matter resolution, applications for exempt status, I also provide expert witness opinions and testimony for law firms, as well as representing clients before the IRS and state agencies.
He regularly gives presentations, writes and contributes to articles on topics such as estate & trust planning, money management, and taxation, financial planning, cash management, succession planning to name a few. My articles have appeared in the Legal Intelligencer, The Street, Insurance Coverage Law Report, the New York Law Journal, New York CPA Journal, MedCITY News, and State Tax Notes, among other publications.
