Reza Van Roosmalen

Reza is the head of Financial Services in Deal Advisory, Accounting Advisory Services. He provides technical accounting advice under IFRS and U.S. GAAP. Reza has played an integral role in some of the firm’s most significant engagements and has advised many of their top IFRS clientele. His experience is primarily within the banking and insurance sector including commercial, investment, and retail banking, asset management and financial risk management.

Reza manages a broad range of accounting implementation, transaction analysis, and “on-call” accounting advisory services for clients on technical banking topics including consolidation, impairment, effective yield and derivatives, change work relating new classification and measurement, impairment and hedge accounting under IFRS 9 and U.S. GAAP and pro-forma, carve-out control, audit and accounting assistance at a large investment bank.

Reza leads KPMG US Financial Instruments Accounting Change Offering, managing a broad range of buy-side and sell-side cross border engagements in various industries including SEC reporting, foreign and US listings, accounting and finance onboarding and separation. He has provided technical accounting trainings both in-house as well as at client sites; speaker at several external workshops and events.

Reza has an Accounting & Control MSc from Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, Corporate Finance MSc from Tilburg University -International Business BSc, Tilburg University (Dutch), and is a Chartered Accountant (Register Accountant).
