Barbara Lewis is a shareholder in the firm of Atkinson & Co., Ltd. in Albuquerque, NM. She is the head Quality Control shareholder for the firm and serves a variety of industries including construction, manufacturing, real estate, not-for-profit organizations, employee benefit plans and organizations subject to Government Auditing Standards and Uniform Guidance.
Ms. Lewis has served in numerous capacities as a volunteer for the AICPA including as a former member of the Auditing Standards Board, Technical Issues Committee, AICPA Council, Not for Profit Expert Panel and the Professional Liability Insurance Committee. She is also a past chair of the New Mexico Society of CPAs and is a current member of the National Accounting and Technical Symposium (Engage) Planning Committee and the Colorado/New Mexico Peer Review Committee. She currently serves as a member of the AICPA Peer Review Board and is a member of the Standards Task Force. Ms. Lewis also currently serves as a technical reviewer for the Colorado/New Mexico Peer Review Program.
