Jay Porter

Jay is a CPA with Porter & Associates CPAs PLLC. He was born and raised in Huntington. After attending The Ohio State University for his undergraduate degree and working in Columbus for a few years, he continued his studies at Marshall University for a master’s in accounting.

Jay has been with Porter & Associates since 2015 where his primary focus is tax matters for individuals and small businesses. He is also involved with the AICPA where he has served on the Individual and Self-employed Taxpayers Technical Resource Panel and now serves on the IRS Advocacy and Relations Committee. He finds serving with the AICPA particularly rewarding because it allows him the opportunity to directly advocate for tax policy change on behalf of the clients he serves and exposes him to broader issues in the tax and accounting world.
