Shawn O'Brien CPA

Shawn O’Brien, Senior Consultant and Business Development with the AuditWatch Group of Thomson Reuters, works with firms to improve audit quality and efficiency; helping firms to revise and refine the way they approach audit planning, performance and management. His extensive experience in audit process consulting includes implementing change throughout a firm’s entire audit practice, as well as working with individual engagement teams to reengineer audit approaches for specific engagements.

Shawn also specializes in audit methodology customization and works with firms to develop firm-specific approaches, policies and practice aids in areas such as establishing materiality, sampling, and internal controls testing. He teaches AuditWatch University classes and Checkpoint Learning webinars.

Shawn was previously an Audit Senior Manager at Deloitte in Pittsburgh where he served a diverse array of clients and taught numerous local and national seminars. He began his career at E&Y. Shawn graduated from Duquesne University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration majoring in accounting. He is a member of the AICPA.
