Hilda is the founder and CEO of FMA, the go-to capacity building firm that foundation and nonprofit leaders seek when they face financial management challenges.
With a staff of nearly forty employees nationwide, Hilda understands the critical role of leadership and creativity in serving a wide variety of clients and has cultivated a staff that shares her vision of the benefits a financially savvy nonprofit sector can deliver to a broader community.
In addition to leading FMA's Consulting and Outsourcing practices nationwide, Hilda delivers trainings in-person and virtually to cohorts of foundation grantees, on behalf of membership organizations and to the general public covering a wide range of themes and offering practical guidance to nonprofits pursuing Operational Excellence. She has also partnered with Nonprofit Quarterly to deliver some of the most popular webinars in the publication's history, on topics like internal controls, the use of capital, board reporting and communication, and the design and implementation of dashboards.
Hilda has served as an adjunct professor at Columbia University's Department of Health Policy and Management. She is the Chair of the Board of Directors for the New York Better Business Bureau Foundation and serves on the Board (as Audit Committee Chair) for Acelero Learning, an organization that works with local communities to support high quality Head Start programs. Hilda serves on the board (as treasurer) of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers and is a member of the Leap of Reason Ambassadors Community, a group of leaders committed practicing and promoting high performance management.
Hilda graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Accounting. She holds the Certification in Control Self-Assessment from the Institute of Internal Auditors. In addition, Hilda holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
