Joseph Torella is the President of HUB International Northeast and President of the East Region. Since December 2009, Joseph Torella has been responsible for the overall management of the Employee Benefits operations throughout HUB Northeast's regional offices. As a testament to his success in leading a strong employee benefits operation, he now also leads the Employee Benefits Practice for the East Super-Region. Mr. Torella holds three decades of insurance industry experience. Prior to joining HUB, he served as Vice President, Business Development with Savoy Associates, a group benefits general agency in New Jersey, where he was responsible for overseeing a regional office and expansion of the firm in Central and Southern New Jersey and into Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, he has held a number of other managerial and executive positions for managed care companies and the consulting community. Mr. Torella is a past-president of the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters, serving the statewide organization as well as the Central and Northern New Jersey Chapter. He is a long-standing member of the American Marketing Association and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Inc. Mr. Torella has been a continuing education instructor for the past 25 years and is a leading health care reform policy expert and distinguished speaker on many topics including Exchanges and Marketplace solutions, consumer-driven healthcare, price and quality transparency, targeted wellness interventions with an emphasis on population health and managing to zero-trend; to name a few. He continues to be one of the most sought after speakers and advisors on cost, quality and access – and the Affordable Care Act and its implications for the future of employee benefits. In addition, he is a well-published editorial contributor; he has authored a monthly column in the Financial Advisor, written articles for Corporate Wellness Magazine, has been featured in Crain's New York Business on health care reform, and is often quoted by the insurance media. Mr. Torella earned his MBA and BA Degrees from Rutgers University.
