Mark Sitlinger – Senior Director – Accounting Policy, Ally Financial Mark Sitlinger joined Ally in January 2007. Mark has over 25 years of varied experience primarily in the financial services industry in capacities ranging from auditor, business process improvement, system implementation, GAAP implementation, M&A and transaction advisory and general accounting policy. In his current role, Mark leads Ally’s Accounting Policy Group which is responsible for the accounting review of complex finance initiatives and transactions, monitoring the accounting standard setters, implementing new accounting standards, maintaining Ally’s Corporate Accounting Policy Manual, and governance and support of various corporate level valuations related to both fair value and other general accruals. Prior to joining Ally, Mark worked as a vice president of accounting policy at Bank of America/MBNA where he was instrumental in the integration of the finance organizations of the merged companies with responsibilities including, purchase accounting, management and SEC reporting around the merger, updating merger forecasts, aligning accounting policies and processes, and other accounting policy based activities. Prior to MBNA, Mark held various accounting, audit and consulting roles, primarily with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Albright College in Reading PA. He is a CPA and a member of both the AICPA and PICPA.
