Mark Barton CPA

Mark Barton is a partner in Ernst and Young LLP’s National Professional Practice Group based in Washington, DC. In this role, he is responsible for consulting with engagement teams and clients on technical accounting matters related to leases, accounting changes, and various other topics.

Prior to this position, Mark completed a fellowship at the Financial Accounting Standards Board where he focused on issues related to revenue recognition and stock-based compensation. He also worked at the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant. Prior to that, Mark worked in EY’s Assurance practice in Pittsburgh serving clients in a variety of industries.

Mark received his Master of Science in accounting from the University of Virginia and his Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the District of Columbia, New York and Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
