Nancy G. Henderson is a Founding Partner of Henderson, Caverly, Pum & Trytten LLP, with offices in San Diego, Pasadena, Rancho Santa Fe, West Los Angeles and Irvine, California. The firm specializes in estates and trusts matters (planning, administration and litigation), taxation, family law mediation, the preparation of pre- and post-marital agreements, and the representation of tax exempt organizations. Ms. Henderson has served for 18 years as a Managing Partner of the firm and as Chair of the Estate Planning Group. The Firm is listed as a top tier firm in Best Lawyers of America.
Ms. Henderson is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel where she served on the Program Committee from 2014-2016. She is named in Best Lawyers in America (Taxation Law and Estates and Trusts Law) and is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law (California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization). Ms. Henderson served on the California State Bar Estate Planning Law Specialist Advisory Committee which wrote and graded three years of specialist exams in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law. Ms. Henderson served for seven years as co-Chair of ALI-CLE’s week-long program, Estate Planning in Depth, which is held annually at the University of Wisconsin (Madison), and she has also served on the Executive Committee of the Taxation Section of the California State Bar (now part of the California Lawyers Association).
Ms. Henderson has spoken and written extensively on estate, gift and income tax planning, and has presented outlines on numerous estate, taxation and charitable planning subjects through various organizations, including the University of Miami Institute on Estate Planning, ACTEC, ALI-CLE, CEB, the Notre Dame Institute, the Kasner Symposium, the Southern California Tax and Estate Planning Forum, the Hawaii Tax Institute, the USC Tax Institute, the UCLA-CEB Estate Planning Institute, the American Bar Association, the California State Bar, the Washington State Bar and various estate planning councils and forums around the country.
Ms. Henderson obtained her bachelor’s degree, magna cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Duke University in 1981. She obtained her law degree in 1991 from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
