Tana Gardner CPA

Tana Gardner is Deputy Chief Financial Officer at USAA Real Estate Company in San Antonio, TX since July 2020 where she leads the Finance & Accounting team of approximately 70 people. That oversight includes corporate finance, fund accounting, tax, technical accounting and process accounting. She participates in the company’s Risk Committee and oversees all internal controls over financial reporting. Prior to joining USAA Real Estate Company, Tana lead the development, preconstruction and finance teams at a vertically-integrated multifamily developer in Columbus, OH. There she was a member of the company’s Investment Committee and Operations Committee and oversaw the functions of deal structuring & underwriting, architectural services, risk management and financial reporting, planning & analysis. Tana began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers where she spent 14 years in the real estate assurance & valuation services in Boston, New York and Cleveland, focused on public and private real estate and infrastructure investment companies, REITs and private equity funds.
