Senior Manager, Sandia National Labs

Louis Griego is the Senior Manager for Project Management, Project Controls and Business Operations supporting the Nuclear Deterrence Division at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Louis is responsible for leading the team that executes business and project management activities across the Division. Our team includes Project Managers, Project Controllers, Business Management Professionals, and Administrative Support personnel. We partner with Mission Execution Divisions to execute the Laboratory’s highest rigor program management requirements. We are a community of practice that is tightly integrated with the Nuclear Deterrence Division while sharing and developing expertise across the business and project management community. Prior to this role, Louis served as the Program Business Manager for the Nuclear Deterrence and Defense Systems and Assessment Program Management Units. Louis was promoted to management in 2010 as the Center Business Manager for Energetic Components. Before his roles in management, Louis worked in project controls and business management for mission programs in Nuclear Deterrence and Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation and as a rates analyst in the Indirect Rates Department. Louis’s education background includes a BBA in Accounting and a MBA in Management Information Systems from the University of New Mexico. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of New Mexico and a Project Management Professional. Louis enjoys serving in the community through various roles. He is a member of the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management Accounting Advisory Board, the chair of the Supervisory Committee for the Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union, a panel CPA for the United Way of Central New Mexico, a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and a volunteer ski instructor with the New Mexico Adaptive Sports program. Louis was awarded the New Mexico Business Weekly “40 under Forty award” in 2014 and was the state of New Mexico’s participant in the Association of International Certified Professional Leadership Academy in 2015.
