Tyree Jones JD

Tyree is a litigation partner in the Financial Industry Group. His practice focuses on defending banks and other financial services institutions in complex class action and individual litigation involving consumer finance, data privacy and employment matters. He helped lead a team that defeated class certification in a nationwide MDL proceeding alleging disparate impact discrimination and seeking more than $1 billion against one of the nation’s largest financial institutions. He also has successfully counseled financial institution clients through regulatory investigations by the OCC, OTS, HUD and the CFPB, and regularly advises on compliance with state and federal fair lending laws. As a successful trial lawyer, Tyree is regularly tapped by clients to serve as lead trial counsel in high-stakes matters, where he has obtained favorable jury and bench trial verdicts in matters alleging employment discrimination, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition and wage and hour violations.Tyree is also the former Director of Global Diversity & Inclusion, having led a firm-wide effort to develop and implement strategies to ensure inclusive talent development and utilization at Reed Smith, and he partners with clients to enhance inclusion in the legal profession – a Reed Smith core value.
