Richard Davisson CPA

Rich Davisson is the director of the Great Lakes regional professional practice office for RSM US LLP. In this capacity, he has overall responsibility for all audit and accounting quality assurance activities for the region. Rich consults on difficult audit and accounting issues with both local and firmwide personnel.

He is both an engagement quality reviewer (EQR) and an SEC compliance reviewer. As an EQR, Rich serves multiple public clients, primarily in the manufacturing and wholesale/distribution market segment. As an SEC compliance reviewer, he serves clients around the nation. Rich has extensive experience in client offerings of securities, including bond offerings by privately held companies and cross border offerings by clients of RSM international affiliates for which Rich serves as the U.S.-based SEC reviewer. He has served clients in reverse acquisition transactions with publicly held shell companies.

Rich is involved in the profession at a national level. He is currently a member of the SEC Regulations Committee of the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ). He serves on the CAQ’s International Practices Task Force and Small Firm Task Force. With the AICPA, Rich is currently a member of the International Auditing Standards Task Force as well as the Group Audit Task Force of the Auditing Standards Board. In the recent past, he served as a member of the AICPA task force that was responsible for updating the Valuation of Privately Held Company Equity Securities Issued as Compensation practice aid.

Rich joined RSM in 1989. Prior to joining the national professional standards group in 2009, he was the partner responsible for quality assurance for the firm’s northern Indiana and Ohio practice groups. His specializations include manufacturing and wholesale distribution, SEC reporting and audit efficiency.
