Greg Morris is an Executive Director and the Market Leader for Ernst & Young LLP’s Valuation Services group in Dallas, Texas. He focuses on valuation and financial advisory services within the energy, chemicals & utilities sector. He has 33 years of experience in the field of corporate valuation, including a role as Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at Nortel Networks. His experience spans numerous industries where he has been associated with the valuation of both public and closely held entities and their underlying assets. 

Prior to joining Ernst & Young LLP he held a similar position with several other global professional services firms. Additionally, he spent approximately two years working for a Houston, Texas based pipeline contractor as a field engineer in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and the southern portion of the United States. 

Mr. Morris has practiced extensively in the energy sector, with a particular focus on the upstream sector. His clients range from major integrated energy companies to regional E&P firms. Greg has extensive reserve valuation experience, preparing valuations for such purposes as mergers & acquisitions, financial reporting, and federal income tax. The scope of several of his engagements have included a complete review and documentation of the reserve valuation and reporting process pursuant to ASC 932, Extractive Activities – Oil and Gas, (formerly SFAS 69, Disclosure about Oil and Gas Producing Activities). Education and professional designations Mr. Morris received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A & M University in 1982, and both an MBA in Finance/Accounting and an MS in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1987 and 1989, respectively.

  3. American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA),
