Gary became the NCUA’s Chief Accountant in the Office of Examination & Insurance Division of Supervision in March 2017. He served as the agency’s acting Chief Accountant for a four-month period in 2015. Gary joined the agency in July 2007 and has worked in various Capital Markets Specialist positions where he has participated in the development and revision of agency rules, regulations and policies, assisted on complex natural person and corporate credit union exams, and taught training courses on capital markets subject matter for federal and state credit union examiners.

Prior to joining the agency, he was a Manager in the Financial Services Consulting Group for a regional accounting/consulting firm, specializing in asset/liability management (ALM) advisory services and profitability improvement analysis. Gary has more than fifteen years of experience managing the ALM functions at several financial institutions, including sitting on the Asset/Liability Committee. He has been a speaker on accounting and ALM topics at NCUA and vendor conferences, as well as served on the adjunct faculty at Seton Hill University. He holds an M.B.A. degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, B.S. in Finance from Arizona State University, and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1990.
