Alfredo Riverol holds two Master Degrees from Florida International University; Master of Public Administration and a Master of Science in Taxation. Mr. Riverol is a Certified Public Accountant and licensed in the State of Florida. His other credentials include Certified Forensic Accountant (Cr.FA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), and Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

Mr. Riverol was selected as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) 2013 Outstanding CPA in Government Impact Award Winner for Local Level of Government for 2013. The National Outstanding CPA in Government Impact Award recognizes the impact of significant contributions of the CPA to the efficiency, effectiveness or innovative service delivery of their respective local, state, or federal employer organization.

Additionally, Alfredo was nominated and selected as the National 2016 Distinguished Local Government Leadership Award recipient by the Association of Government Accountants (AGA). The award recognizes the outstanding leadership of individuals in local government that led to improved financial management practices, policies, systems or operations and consistently exhibited the highest personal and professional standards.

Furthermore, in 2013, Mr. Riverol was featured in the South Florida Business Journal as one of the best and brightest young professionals under the age of 40 for his professional success and community involvement.

Currently, Alfredo Riverol is an appointed member of the AICPA’s Government Performance and Accountability Committee (GPAC). One of the Committee’s main objectives is to promote greater government accountability and the integrity of government operations, information, and information systems.

Mr. Riverol is an adjunct professor at Florida International University specializing in Public Budgeting and Finance. In addition to his teaching activities, Alfredo at times is requested, nationally, to speak on the topic of Finances in Public Administration. In 2010, Mr. Riverol was selected as the Chief Financial Officer at the City of South Miami, a position in which he continues to serve. Alfredo is an active member and participant to multiple organizations; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Government Finance Officers Association, Florida Government Finance Officers Association, S. FL Govt. Finance Officers and City Clerks Association, Association of Government Accountants, and American College of Forensic Examiners Institute.
