Alison VanOtterloo CPA

Alison VanOtterloo is the Vice President, Corporate Services & Strategy at Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company in Algona, Iowa. Prior to joining Pharmacists Mutual, Alison was employed with Ernst & Young, LLP as a Financial Auditor. Alison received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, both in accounting, from the University of Northern Iowa. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and has also earned her Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designations. Alison oversees a wide variety of areas within Pharmacists Mutual including Internal Audit, Reinsurance, and Corporate Strategy. Alison also leads several different learning and development initiatives at Pharmacists Mutual. Alison is a member of the Board of Directors for the Iowa Society of CPAs, Kossuth County Economic Development, and the Algona Community School Foundation. She is also an active member of the Algona Rotary Club. Alison is a graduate of the 2014 AICPA Leadership Academy and was selected in 2019 as one of the emerging leaders in the insurance industry by the American Property Casualty Insurance Association. She lives in Algona with her husband, Todd, and their four children.
