Roopa Baboota has over 10 years of progressive audit and risk management experience. Roopa currently works in Internal Audit at Alphabet Inc., located in Silicon Valley, where she manages a portfolio of corporate functions and helps lead their Alphabet SOX program and mitigate enterprise risk. Roopa was an integral player on the IA financial reporting project of Google moving to Alphabet’s segment reporting in 2015.
Prior to working at Alphabet, Roopa was the Head of Internal Audit for Retail at Walmart Canada located in Toronto, Ontario. During her tenure, Roopa provided a number of insightful and value added recommendations to Leadership to drive the retail footprint in the industry; as well as launch the e-commerce business in Canada.
Previous to this Roopa worked at Collins Barrow Ottawa LLP where she obtained private and not-for-profit audit experience ranging in a variety of sectors.
Roopa has a proven ability to build strong, professional relationships with all levels of an organization and is recognized as a distinguished leader in talent development and team empowerment.
While a native of Canada, Roopa holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree with a concentration in Accounting, and a Minor in Economics. She is also a Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
