President, Ascend

Jeff is a founder and the inaugural president of Ascend, the premier non- profit organization dedicated to enhancing the presence, influence and visibility of current and future Pan Asian business leaders. He is passionate about diversity and the importance of giving back to the Pan Asian and business community, such that he devotes full time as the volunteer leader of Ascend. Ascend, started in June 2005, has rapidly grown to become the largest, premier national non-profit Pan Asian membership organization for business professionals with over 8,000 members and 50+ professional and student chapters which includes, the National Association of Asian MBAs, NAAMBA, that joined the Ascend family in 2013 and is now an international organization through the establishment of Ascend in Canada. Jeff is a retired partner of Ernst & Young LLP, having spent almost 30 years with the firm, of which over 18 years as a partner. He spent his entire career in the Metro New York Office. Jeff served as the coordinating partner for both publicly and privately owned companies, too numerous to mention. Jeff provided various services over the years to his clients, including, among others, assurance, SEC advisory, taking companies public, due diligence, and general business advice. At Ernst & Young LLP, Jeff was very involved in diversity, having served on the Ernst & Young Tri State’s Diversity Advisory Committee and Ernst & Young’s National Ethnicity Diversity Task Force. Jeff started Ernst & Young’s Asian American affinity network, EY/ASIA. Jeff is the recipient of the “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business” award from the Asian American Business Development Center, the “Summit on Leading Diversity Corporate Fellow Award” from Linkage, Inc. and recognized in the American Institute of CPAs eBook, “CPAs of Color, Celebrating 40 Years.”
