Mercedes Hendricks CPA

Mercedes Hendricks is a CPA with a passion for serving the needs of the automotive industry. With thirteen years of public accounting experience, Mercedes uses her technical, analytical and project management skills to bring people together in a team environment with the ultimate goal of providing a first class experience for her clients.

Mercedes is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. For 13 years following her graduation, she worked her way up to a senior manager with Crowe Horwath, LLP (a top-ten national public accounting firm), with the last 9 years specializing in the automotive retail dealer industry. Mercedes’ experience at Crowe consisted of assurance and consulting projects with over 100 retail dealerships across the country, exposing her to the industry language, systems, regulatory environment and general operations.

Mercedes managed large projects, from traditional audit and review engagements to non-traditional consulting engagements, such as due diligence services in mergers and acquisitions, review of internal controls and tests of compliance, analyzing dealership financial statements, building policies and procedures manuals, and other various projects accounting or otherwise. She was a mentor and supervisor for teams and individuals from across the different Crowe offices and spent time educating the public through various webinars, conferences and seminars on a variety of accounting topics.

In 2014, Mercedes was exposed to captive insurance planning for automotive dealers. Mercedes spent the last year focusing on providing those types of solutions for auto dealers with Dannah Capital Partners. She completed a program through the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) and is in the final stages of obtaining her Associate in Captive Insurance. She enjoys talking with clients about alternative insurance solutions available to them. She also wrote articles for the Automotive Buy-Sell Report highlighting ways in which captive insurance could be used in a variety of buy-sell strategies.

With Mercedes’ passion for the automotive industry and extensive experience in the technical and regulatory world, joining Axiom Advisors in 2015 was a natural fit. Mercedes is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the California State Society of CPA’s (CalCPA), and the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW).
