Senior Accounting Policy Analyst, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System

Shuchi is a Senior Accounting Policy Analyst for the Federal Reserve Board's Division of Banking Supervision and Regulation. She helps formulate the Board’s position on accounting standards that affect the banking sector. She also provides technical assistance on financial accounting and reporting issues related to her areas of expertise, which include, derivatives and hedging, fair value measurement, other-than-temporary impairments, securities financing transactions and allowances for credit losses. Shuchi has a lead role in the development and implementation of Current Expected Credit loss (CECL) model. She also represents the Federal Reserve Board on various subgroups of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Prior to joining the Board in December 2011, Shuchi worked as a Vice President in the Securities and Finance Group of NERA Economic Consulting. She managed litigation as well as consulting projects related to pricing, valuation, and risk management of financial instruments including derivatives and structured products. Her client base at NERA included large banks, broker-dealers, asset management companies and life insurance companies. Her work at NERA included in-depth review of investment portfolios, derivatives trading desks and securities lending programs. Ms. Satwah is a Certified Public Accountant and she also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with specialization in Finance.
