Debra Seefeld, a partner of Seefeld Lawson Moeller LLP, manages the firm's audit and accounting practice, and performs peer reviews through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant's peer review program. Debra's primary responsibility for the firm's audits includes audit, review and preparation of financial statements, and/or special financial compliance reports (including Single Audits). She has managed and performed a variety of special engagements for the firm's clients, including agreed-upon procedures, litigation support, and other financial related services.
Debra's auditing experience includes industries such as: Not-for-profit organizations, financial institutions, nonpublic companies, and employee benefit plans.
Debra serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and the Houston CPA Society and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Debra currently serves on the AICPA Peer Review Board and the Peer Review Committee of the TSCPA. Debra is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). In addition, she serves on the AICPA Small Firm Solutions Editorial Advisory Board and the PPC/Thomson Reuters Customer Advisory Panel. She served on the AICPA and Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants ElderCare/PrimePlus Taskforce. Debra also served on the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Panel. Debra was the founding president of Executive Women’s Alliance, a 501(c)(3) organization which mentors at-risk female high school students. Her other affiliations include industry associations, local business clubs, and area chambers of commerce. Debra has had numerous articles published in professional journals, including the Journal of Accountancy.
Debra graduated magna cum laude from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and has been licensed as a certified public accountant for over sixteen years.
