Timothy L. Baker is a lecturer in the School of Accounting and at The University of South Carolina and serves as the faculty advisor for the School’s Beta Alpha Psi Chapter. His areas of academic interest include accounting information systems, analytics, and auditing.

Baker received his B.A. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina - Aiken and his Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant, a member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Management Accountants. He previously served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and served as Chair of the organization for the 2011 year.

Prior to joining the faculty at the University of South Carolina, he served as a Vice President of Consulting for a National Consulting Firm and owned his practice prior to that. He had a successful career in Public Accounting and Consulting for more than 20 years before pursuing a second career in academia.
