AICPA Chairman of the Board of Directors, Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP

Timothy L. Christen is Chairman of the American Institute of CPAs' Board of Directors for 2015-2016.

Tim has a history of contributions to the profession, including having served as a member of the AICPA’s Board of Directors and Governing Council. He has been a member of the AICPA’s Compensation and Political Action Committees, as well as the Member Advisory Panel. He has fifteen years of service as a member of the AICPA’s Major Firms Group, including as Chairman. In addition, Tim serves on the Council of the International Integrated Reporting Committee (IIRC). The IIRC is a global coalition of regulators, investors, companies, standard setters, the accounting profession and NGOs promoting the adoption of Integrated Reporting on an international basis.

Tim is Chairman and CEO of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly). Baker Tilly is the branded US member firm of Baker Tilly International, the world’s eighth largest accounting firm network. He chairs the firm’s Board of Partners and Compensation Committees. Tim is actively engaged with Baker Tilly International. He currently serves on the Board of Directors, the North American Regional Advisory Council and chairs the Remuneration Committee.

Tim has been honored for his service to the profession, having been named one of Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting and recognized as one of the five Most Admired US Managing Partners by Inside Public Accounting.

Tim is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, which honored him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2001.

Tim and his wife, Pam, split time between Chicago and Madison, Wisconsin
