Jeff Moore, CPA/CFF, CFE, CIRA, CGMA is the founder, owner, and principal consultant of J.E. Moore, CPA, P.C. With 38 years of professional accounting experience, Jeff specializes in forensic accounting, litigation support, and troubled business and bankruptcy services in a wide variety of cases. He is retained by attorneys and others to provide reconstructive and investigative accounting, dispute resolution, and consulting and testifying expert services involving matters such as employee embezzlement, fraudulent financial reporting, internal controls and fraud prevention and detection, internal investigations, trust and estate disputes, accountant malpractice, calculation of lost profits and other damages, breach of fiduciary duty, and contractual disputes. In addition, Jeff continues to provide part-time and interim CFO and controllership services to both small and large business and other organizations.

After obtaining his BBA degree in accounting from Georgia State University in 1977, Jeff began his accounting career as an auditor with the international accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst and Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young). After spending five years at E&Y, two years with a Top-25 Atlanta CPA firm, and two more years as VP-Finance for a privately held resort development company, Jeff formed the JE Moore firm and became one of the pioneers of the now-popular “part-time and interim chief financial officer” industry.

Jeff is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), serving as Chair of the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) Credential Committee (2014-present). He’s been a member of the CFF Credential Committee since 2011 and served as Chair of the CFF Champions Task Force (2011-13). He also serves as member of the AICPA’s CFF Champion Program and received the 2011 Outstanding CFF Champion Award. Also active in the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA), Jeff served as Vice-Chair of its Forensic and Valuation Services Section Leadership Team (2010-13); Chair and Vice-Chair of the Troubled Businesses and Bankruptcy Division (2010-13); Chair of the 2009 Fraud and Forensic Accounting Conference Task Force; Co-Chair of the 2008 Fraud and Forensic Accounting Conference Task Force; and member of the GSCPA Forensic and Valuation Services Section Leadership Team (2007-13). In addition, Jeff is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He was named Board Member Emeritus of the Georgia Chapter of ACFE in 2011 after serving as a Board Member for seven years.
