Michael P. Breen CPA

Mike is an Audit partner in KPMGs National Office. He has more than 15 years of experience performing financial statement audits, providing audit engagement teams with technical accounting support, and as a practice fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board. Mike has extensive experience in providing accounting and auditing services to healthcare providers, including governmental hospitals, community and teaching hospitals, academic medical centers, and long term care facilities. Mike served a rotation in KPMGs National Office where he had a key role on the revenue recognition project team. Mike lead the development of the firms publications and trainings on the revenue standard. Mike also had responsibilities for the development of core firm training materials for healthcare industry professionals as well as updating firm accounting and auditing literature. In July 2012, Mike completed a two-year assignment as a Practice Fellow at the FASB. In this role, Mike acted as a project manager in the development of accounting standards and focusing on implementation and emerging accounting practice issues. Mike was a member of the revenue recognition project team. He was also the EITF coordinator or fellow in charge of all EITF related matters in the second year of his fellowship.
