Brian Carlstead, a Director on Citis not-for-profit health care investment banking team originates and leads capital markets transactions (taxable and tax-exempt) and M&A advisory assignments (mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and JV/JOA partnerships) for a wide range of not-for-profit health care providers located across the country, including multi-state health systems, integrated delivery systems, regional health care systems, academic medical centers, childrens hospitals and community hospitals. Selected clients include some of the largest not-for-profit organizations. Brians M&A advisory experience encompasses a myriad of health care sectors, including acute care, ambulatory surgery, urgent care, laboratory, specialty pharmacy, home health, institutional pharmacy and dialysis. Brian has approximately ten years of not-for-profit health care investment banking experience; prior to joining Citi in November 2010, Brian worked for several years on the not-for-profit health care investment banking team at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Brian worked at a boutique corporate restructuring firm and Arthur Andersen LLP. Brian graduated with a B.S.B.A., double majoring in accounting and finance from The University of Arizona in 1997. Brian is a Certified Public Accountant. Brian is a member of the Little Company of Mary Hospital (IL) finance committee and Citis diversity, recruiting and analyst compensation committees. Brian works at the New York City headquarters for Citi; he is originally from Chicago.
