Jim has more than 12 years of corporate tax experience. Jim has experience with large consolidated returns, FAS 109, FIN 48, E&P studies, accounting methods and transaction consulting.

Prior to joining public accounting, Jim worked for 5 years in Wachovia’s tax department. Jim also spent two and a half years with a national firm prior to joining Dixon Hughes Goodman, working primarily in the financial services and insurance industries.

Jim’s experience ranges from owner-managed businesses to Fortune 100 companies. Jim has extensive experience in securitizations, hedging, mark to market accounting, OID, and structured financial products. He also has experience with Section 382 M&A transactions and FDIC assisted transactions. Jim has lectured on multiple occasions for topics from FAS 109 and FIN 48 to financial products. Jim also led the firm’s regional implementation of FIN 48 for nonpublic filers.
