Tracy B. Stewart

I have been a CPA since I was first licensed in California in 1981. I became licensed in Texas in 1990. In 1979, I started my career in the San Francisco office of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. I left the firm as an audit manager in 1985 to take the position of Controller at Imperial Savings & Loan and ICA Mortgage in La Jolla. After relocating to Texas, I formed my own CPA firm in College Station, Texas in 1998. Since then, I have focused on financial issues of divorce, settlement negotiations in divorce cases, forensic tracing for property characterization, testifying expert in divorce and financial forensics cases, and consulting in elder care financial planning.

Since moving to Texas, I have participated in the Texas Society of CPAs as a six-year member of the Executive Committee, including Treasurer. I have been an active member of the AICPA for several years on various committees related to personal financial planning. My experience as an auditor and a financial planner has been quite relevant to skills needed to perform financial forensics for marital dissolution cases. For several years, I have been appointed as a consultant or an expert witness on family law divorce and forensic cases, most of which have been multi-million-dollar estates.

I have written two chapters about the financial issues in divorce for published books, one with the AICPA and the other with the TexasBarBooks.
