Steven Morrison is an experienced audit partner with diverse experience as a client-service partner, national office executive, and standard-setter as an active board member of the AICPA Auditing Standards Board (ASB). He is quality focused and has demonstrable ability to timely and effectively resolve rapidly emerging and existing accounting, audit, and client-service issues as well as develop effective audit methodology leveraging experience as an engagement partner and standard-setter.

Currently, his responsibilities include facilitating high-quality assurance engagements through:
o The development and application of Firm methodology addressing multiple standard setters
o The consideration of current and developing standards and practice and identification and application of appropriate changes to Firm methodology including for rapidly-developing matters such as COVID-19 and the effects on audits
o Active consultations with Firm client service personnel on complex accounting and assurance matters
o Active consultations with Firm client service personnel on independence matters and the development and application of independence policies
o Serving as an Assurance liaison to Learning & Development Department (which in the past 2 years included facilitating the switch from level-based training to industry-based training)
o Developing and presenting various trainings on Assurance-related topics with an emphasis on effective communication to make execution practical for Assurance personnel without sacrificing quality
o Drafting comment letters to the AICPA and PCAOB on Assurance, Attest, and Independence exposure drafts and matters
o Serving as a member of the Core Methodology team of the AICPA Dynamic Audit Solution (DAS) project to develop a transformative audit methodology

Steven brings experience as a client service engagement partner, quality control reviewer, and as a standard setter. He has worked with entities in a variety of industries, including automotive dealerships, employee benefit plans, freight forwarding /mail courier, retail, and wholesale/distribution. His experience encompasses effectively addressing unique accounting and audit issues of entities in the United States, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Americas. Steven addresses specific issues for companies in a variety of other industries and has extensive experience in effectively communicating simple and complex technical matters to all levels of client personnel. He also has select experience on large litigation support engagements involving malpractice claims on large firms.
