Xihao Hu

Xihao Hu has over 15 years of experience working in and servicing the financial services industry in various capacities. Currently, he is the Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Accountant for The Toronto-Dominion Bank Group (TD), leading a team of more than 150 professionals responsible for TD’s accounting policy (IFRS and US GAAP), accounting operations and management, as well as financial and regulatory reporting. In addition, in his roles as the Chair of the Chief Accountants’ Committee with the Canadian Bankers Association and as a member of the AICPA Depository Institutions Expert Panel, he has been engaging actively in standard setting activities pertinent to banking and other financial institutions.

Before joining TD, Xihao was a Partner and the Southeast Region Leader for the Financial Instruments and Valuation SMR (Subject Matter Resource) program at Deloitte & Touche LLP (Deloitte) in the United States. He was also the Deputy Leader for the Banking Industry within Deloitte’s legacy Regulatory & Capital Markets Consulting Group. He led the Accounting Policy team of the audit engagement on one of the largest US financial institutions, responsible for a wide variety of accounting issues, including, amongst others, fair value measurement and option, hedge accounting, derivatives, consolidation, transfer of financial assets, and loan loss allowance.

At TD and Deloitte alike, Xihao has been a frequent guest speaker at a number of international and domestic accounting events or conferences sponsored by American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, International Accounting Standards Board, and etc.

Xihao is the executive sponsor of TD Corporate Visible Minority Committee and he is a Board member of Centre for Information & Community Services (CICS) of Canada.
