Mike Palmer

Mike Palmer joined Warren Averett in 2012 and is a Senior Manager of Benefit Consultants. His primary responsibilities include ERISA consulting, plan administration, and recordkeeping services. Mike has previous experience as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for Employee Fiduciary where he managed operations for over 1,800 retirement plans, handling ERISA compliance and reporting for corporate retirement accounts at Hancock Bank, and service as a lead conversion analyst for Daily Access Corporation. Mike first began his career as an auditor for the Mobile County (AL) Public School System.
In 2006, Mike was selected to serve on the Employee Benefits Technical Resource Panel, providing governance and technical support on retirement plan issues to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), which is the largest national association of Certified Public Accountants, with a membership of more than 200,000. He also works with the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) on their Education and Examination Committee serving as a subject matter expert.

Mike holds designations as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Pension Consultant (CPC), a Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA). He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA from The University of South Alabama located in Mobile, Alabama.
