Lonnie Stockwell

Benevolent Fund President

In 2012, Lonnie retired from J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank after five years as an Executive Director/Private Banker in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Until May 2007, he
was the managing director of the New Orleans offices of Postlethwaite & Netterville. Previously, he was a tax director in the firm and served on the firm’s management committee from 1997 through 2007, after 34 years in public accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Society of Louisiana CPAs, serving as president of the LCPA in 2000 – 2001. He served as a member of the AICPA Council and currently serves as the President of the Board of Trustees for the AICPA Benevolent Fund. Community service has been a focus of Lonnie’s for many years. He has been recognized numerous times on the local, state and national levels for many accomplishments in the civic and community arenas. He received the AICPA’s National Public Service Award, the highest honor bestowed on a CPA nationally for community leadership and distinction and was the first recipient from Louisiana. One of his most meaningful accomplishments was being selected as a Community Hero in Baton Rouge to carry the Olympic torch during the torch relay for the 1996 Olympics. He has served on numerous boards of civic organizations and is committed to giving back to the communities that have allowed him to be successful. He has been married to his wife Maureen for 46 years and they have 2 children and 6 grandchildren. He was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He served in the United States Marine Corps and is proud to be a decorated Vietnam Veteran.
