Michael Smith CPA

Mike is an Audit partner in KPMG’s New York Financial Services practice serving broker-dealer, commercial, and mortgage banking clients. He has 17 years of experience serving both global and domestic financial services organizations, including a two-year rotation in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice. Mike focuses on SEC and regulatory matters, financial instruments, broker-dealer operations, consolidation, capital transactions, income taxes, goodwill, and contingencies. He also develops content and presents broker-dealer industry developments and current accounting issues both internally and externally. Mike was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the Financial Management Society of SIFMA. Mike is a member of the AICPA and licensed in the states of New York and New Jersey.
