Peter Scavuzzo is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Marcum LLP, a top national accounting and advisory services firm with over 1300 employees in 22 offices in the U.S., Grand Cayman and China. Marcum LLP is part of the Marcum Group, a diversified portfolio of professional service organizations. Peter is responsible for creating and executing the Strategic Technology Roadmap across all Marcum Group companies. His current Strategic Charter focuses on five major points: Customer Service, IT to Business Alignment, IT Security, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, and Workforce Excellence. During his tenure at Marcum, he has played a key role in the Firm’s successful expansion from 2 to 22 offices, successfully integrating over 20 M&A transactions and seamlessly expanding and relocating 15+ offices. As an executive leader reporting directly to the Managing Partner, Peter provides direction and input on all strategic technology initiatives. He is an active participant on Firm efficiency committees and proactively introduces new technologies to the business to maximize staff productivity. As a member of the Firm’s Management Team, Peter provides continual guidance on business processes, data protection, security, risk management and operational improvements. He regularly visits Firm offices throughout the year, gathering constructive feedback from Partners and staff. He requires that IT follow standard operating procedures and practice change-management. He ensures IT transparency by promoting IT Governance and oversight. Within the Firm, he is a contributor and key asset to all C-Level executives and mentors staff as part of the Firm’s coaching program. He actively represents the Firm at industry events and public speaking engagements. Before joining Marcum, Peter was responsible for the national IT Infrastructure at Photocircuits Corporation, a global 800M manufacturing company of 3,500+ employees. Peter has also served as Assistant Director of Computing Services at the State University of New York at Old Westbury for approx. 3,300+ students and 122 full-time faculty. For over a decade, he owned a SMB Technology Consulting Firm, providing IT services to approx. 40 companies in the SMB market space. Peter earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Master of Science in Telecommunication Networks from Polytechnic University, which is now known as the Polytechnic Institute of NYU.
