Norman S. Solomon is president of a local firm. Having practiced public accountancy for 34 years as a tax accountant, Mr. Solomon now provides tax consulting services to other accountants and attorneys on an advisory basis. Mr. Solomon was an instructor at San Diego State University from 1971 to 1991, where he taught various tax and accounting classes. He was also on the faculty of Golden Gate University’s Graduate Tax Program from 1986 to 1988. Since 1976 he has taught and authored tax courses for the California CPA Education Foundation, from which he received awards for Instructor Excellence and for Meritorious Service.
A frequent presenter at AICPA conferences and workshops, Mr. Solomon has also lectured and led discussion groups at the AICPA National Tax Training Institute in Champaign, Illinois since 1982. For over 20 years Mr. Solomon has served on the California CPA Education Foundation's Tax Advisory Committee and various tax conference planning committees. He has also been a member of AICPA conference planning committees and the Individual Income Tax Committee. Mr. Solomon is an Editorial Adviser to the Tax Adviser and a former member of the Individual Income Tax Resource Panel of the AICPA Tax Section. Mr. Solomon is a member of the AICPA, the California CPA Society, and other professional organizations. He is licensed as a CPA and attorney in California.
