CFAO, Intrepid Museum Foundation

Patricia Beene-Colasanti, CPA, is the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at the Intrepid Museum Foundation, which operates the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City. She is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the financial, treasury, administrative and risk management functions, including accounting and financial reporting, technology, human resources, and grants administration. As part of the senior management team, she has been involved in the development of the Museum’s Strategic Plan and fostering a culture of enterprise risk management. Since joining the Museum in 2006, Ms. Beene has overseen the development and implementation of a wide range of policies and procedures and internal controls as well as upgraded technology infrastructure and systems, including a robust budgeting system.



Ms. Beene has over twenty-five years of experience in senior financial management positions at both publicly-traded and privately-held enterprises in such diverse sectors of industry as commuter transportation, automotive sales and service, warehousing, healthcare, technology and service-based businesses. Previously she was also a partner at a consulting firm that worked with major corporations and investment banks on social, technological, economic, and geopolitical shifts and changes identified by the firm. She has been a presenter on the topic of internal controls and risk management at an AICPA conference for Not-for-Profit Financial Executives. In addition, she has served as an adviser to a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting victims of spinal cord injuries and to raising funds for research.
