Carol Cantrell is a managing partner of the tax law firm of Cantrell & Cantrell, PLLC in Houston, Texas, where she specializes in federal income tax and estate planning for individuals, families and entrepreneurs. She is board certified in Tax Law and Estate Planning & Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Prior to that she practiced public accounting as a CPA and Certified Financial Planner. She obtained her law degree cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center and her BA in mathematics cum laude from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. Carol has served on numerous task forces of the AICPA Trust, Estate & Gift Tax Technical Resource Panel and is past Chair of the Texas Society of CPAs Federal Tax Policy Committee, which comments to Congress and the IRS on legislative and administrative proposals affecting CPAs. Carol is also former Vice-Chair of the Income and Transfer Tax Planning Group of the Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section of the American Bar Association and member of the National Conference of Lawyers and Corporate Fiduciaries. Carol is a frequent speaker and author of numerous publications, including “The Fiduciary Accounting Answer Book” published by CCH Wolters Kluwer and “Guide to Practical Estate Planning” and “The Texas Franchise Tax Deskbook” by Thomson Reuters.
